The most important information concerning SEPA debit mandates, deadlines and fees.
R-transactions are financial transactions differing from the norm. This can either be caused by a failure in the financial process (e.g. technical error, missing information or insufficient permissions), cancellation or return of the transaction.
In the frame of direct debit, SEPA categorizes unsuccessful transactions as r-transactions, such as rejects, returns or refunds of collection. This mainly includes rejections of direct debits, either from the customer or the creditor. The SEPA payment system sets in its regulations broad r-transactions that apply to direct debits and transfers. In addition, fixed deadlines and processes are defined to simplify the treatment of exceptional situations.
