The e-wallet giant launched an innovative new e-commerce checkout technology, which present the most relevant payment method for each customer.
The new smart payment buttons offer a simplified alternative to encumbered checkout pages. Rather than showing all the payment methods options offered, PayPal’s new checkout displays a list matching the preferred methods for the region.
Local alternative payment methods can be more prominently offered to customers. Merchants can customize the payment buttons in various ways, notably their appearance, orientation and language. Showing, for example, local wallets and country-specific options alongside the PayPal button will benefit retailers by making it easier for clients to find their preferred payment method.
At first, the e-wallet will offer iDEAL in the Netherlands, Bancontact in Belgium, MyBank in Italy, Giropay in Germany, and EPS in Austria.
