New PayPal Here card readers

E-Wallet giant Paypal has launched two new PayPal Here card readers. The new mobile point-of-sale solutions (mPOS), “Chip and Swipe Reader” and “Chip and Tap Reader”, were designed to help small businesses accept card transactions anywhere.


Both devices are offer easy portability, being smaller than a deck of cards, Bluetooth connectivity and a long battery life. The new card readers are EMV-compliant and PayPal’s promise of the highest degree of security. The “Chip and Tap Reader” is NFC-enabled, supporting contactless payment methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay.

PayPal is aiming at offering their consumers a seamless omnichannel experience while offering business owners more mobility and convenience.

The new mPOS readers join the existing “Chip Card Reader” and “Mobile Card Reader” devices. PayPal Here Readers work with the PayPal Here app, available for Android and Apple devices, and can be paired with compatible smartphones or tablet via Bluetooth.
