The American payment gateway Authorize.Net was founded in 1996 in Utah. Since 2007, it is a subsidiary of CyberSource, which was acquired by Visa in 2010. Authorize.Net processes credit card and electronic check payments directly on the merchant’s website.
Authorize.Net processes card and Automated Clearing House (ACH) direct debit transactions for small to mid-size businesses based in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe or Australia. This gateway is PCI DSS compliant. Authorize.net quotes are made up of a setup fee, a monthly gateway fee and a percentage and fixed per transaction fee. Different packages are available, according the merchant’s needs. The virtual terminal, website payment seal and fraud tools are included at no extra cost.
Authorize.net offers various mPOS options, enabling merchant to accept payment from anywhere, using a smartphone or tablet. Merchant simply need to connect a card reader through a standard headphone jack on Apple iOS or Android device. The mPOS app is customizable, notably allowing merchant to use different tax rates, set a default tax rate, accept tips, gather shipping information, create a SKU catalog, and email receipts.
This payment gateway offer fraud prevention, recurring billing and simple checkout solutions. This gateway is also compatible with the bookkeeping software QuickBooks. Authorize.Net accepts payments in British Pounds, Euros and USD. Through EVO Snap, payments can be accepted in Swiss Francs, Danish Krone, Norwegian Krone, Polish Zloty and Swedish Krona. Merchants based in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe or Australia can make international transactions with the help of this gateway.
