Amazon Pay is a subsidiary of Amazon.com. Amazon Pay offers an express check-out that does not require customers to manually enter personal information. At checkout, the payment and customer data stored on the customer’s Amazon account is accessed. The transactions themselves are handled by the merchant.
Amazon Pay helps merchants increase conversions using Express Checkout. Amazon Pay receives the data for the payment processing, articles and cart data are not transferred. Traders using Amazon Pay are protected from fraud without taking any further fraud prevention measures.
Merchant support is offered in six different languages: German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Japanese.
The payment process via Amazon Pay is suitable for a good conversion when shopping via mobile devices. In the shopping cart, the customer selects Amazon Pay, enters their email address and password and confirms the payment method or delivery address. In the next step, they will receive the confirmation of purchase.
Amazon Pay helps merchants settle transactions using credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Diners Club and JCB, as well as transfers from Amazon Pay account balance. It supports payment in the following currencies: AUD, GBP, DKK, EUR, HKD, JPY, NZD, NOK, ZAR, SEK, CHF, USD.
When paying with Amazon Pay, customers use their current Amazon account with the appropriate credentials. This shortens the check-out process.
In addition, Amazon Pay offers customers the A-to-Z warranty. This includes the condition of the purchased product and its timely delivery. For example, if a product was damaged during shipping or did not conform to the product description and the buyer returned the product but did not receive a refund, the buyer may resort to the A-to-Z warranty and will refund the purchase price to Amazon Pay.
Amazon make plugins available for merchants using a variety of online shop platforms. Amazon develops extensions for Magento WooCommerce, WordPress and Shopify, among others.
